20 years as leader of a research group with 12-40 coworkers.

10 years as manager of the Insect Control and Seedcare Research Portfolio with responsibility for all research projects and the research strategies.

Inventor of thiamethoxam (Actara®, Cruiser®, one of the leading insecticides world-wide with annual sales of more than 1 billion $), and project leader for the development of this innovative insecticide. Initiation and execution of many research projects on new chemical classes at Syngenta including essential contributions to the discovery and optimization of several new active ingredients, such as Spiropidion, Isocycloseram, Cyclobutrifluram and a malaria vector control compound, which are expected to reach the market in the next couple of years.
